Sotiris Dimitriou (Σωτήρης Δημητρίου)

sotiris-dimitriou

Sotiris Dimitriou (b. 1955 in Thesprotia) is one of Greece's best-known and most prolific prose writers. Author of numerous novels and collections of short stories—one of which has been made into a popular film—he is known for his focus on the "outsider," and the experiences of marginal ethnic communities and immigrants in Greece. He is also known for his experimentation with the Greek language and the suppleness of his use of various vernaculars.
