George S. Kounoupis

George Kounoupis was born in Sparta, where Evrotas River winds through its valley and Taygetos, with its five peaks looms over it. When he was nine, the family moved to Pennsylvania.  His strong sense of family, the need for self identity, the otherness that plagues twice expatriate immigrants, two world wars, and  twenty years of practicing law, were enough to fuel his quest for a coming to terms with his soul and the world of his parents, back in the Greek village life. It was on the road from Mystras to Taygetos that he sensed a spiritual force that he could not describe, except in poetry and writing.
