In 1967 Charles Young with his wife and three children moved to Greece, where the family settled in Marousi, a northern suburb of Athens.  Young taught at Athens College until 1978. He then began teaching at the National Merchant Marine Academy on the island of Hydra. While living on the island he restored a house, built his present home and wrote Clouds Over Hydra and The Last Man On Earth.  Both novels became bestsellers in Greek. Young and his wife Mary divide their time between Hydra and  Madison, Connecticut. Other books include Luck of the Draw, an account of the Sixth Marine Division on Okinawa, and Potassett, the story of the Pequots in New England.
